Passau: Migration and Translocality
John Narh has joined the ‘Migration and Translocality in West Africa’ (MiTra-WA), an international research consortium funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. John‘s overall aim for this project is to understand the impact of translocality with a focus on agricultural land-use and forest management in communities along the Southern Scarp Forest Ecological Zone of Ghana. More especially, his study seeks to understand the impact of out-migration on agricultural land as well as what cash remittances are used for in relation to crop farming and forest management. His study also seeks to elucidate the role and impact of transfer of knowledge by migrants in agricultural land-use and forest management.
