During the summer term in 2017 some students completed art projects on the topic of state ideologies in South East Asia. The documentation of the very different projects are now available at the website of the Southeast Asian Studies section.

The seminar "The King has died. What's next? State ideologies in Southeast Asia" was carried out with the contribution of contemporary Indonesian artist Arahmaiani Feisal. She guided the students through all stages of production from finding initial ideas until final realization.
Arahmaiani is internationally famous for her provocative work on a wide range of social and cultural issues. In addition she is known as pioneer in the field of performance art in the region of South East Asia. A brief introduction to her work can be found at the website of the Asian Art Archive in America.
