In addition to exchanges with representatives of the city administration and politicians, including Mayor Dr Thomas Spies and employees of the Marburg Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (MAFEX), the insight into the Creativity and Social Innovation Hub Marburg (https://cim-hub.de/) provided particularly illuminating food for thought: As part of this project, Marburg is focusing on social creativity and innovation and supporting start-ups and civil society initiatives based on very specific needs. For example, vacant properties are being used to create space for a wide variety of events, ranging from discussion evenings on current topics (e.g. ‘Repair Dialogue’) to ‘social dinners’. The focus is always on a sustainable and socially broad-based examination of current social challenges.
The exchange with the network partners from Marburg is continuing, and it remains exciting to see what developments will emerge.
Since October 2025, the University of Passau's research and transfer project ‘TraUBe – Transformation of University Education Spaces’ has been creating regional university spaces to bring together actors from higher education and urban society, with the aim of jointly developing both the region and the framework conditions for university teaching and learning.
The project team would like to continuously expand its network and is looking for partners who are interested in getting involved in this project. We welcome your interest and messages via the contact form → https://www.uni-passau.de/traube/traube-kontaktformular.
