Annual Meeting of the Southeast Asia Library Group 27–28 June 2025

The Chair of Critical Development Studies – Southeast Asia will host the Annual Meeting and Conference of the Southeast Asia Library Group (SEALG). The conference will take place on 27-28 June 2025 and will be held in hybrid form. The conference is open to all members of the University of Passau.

The Southeast Asia Library Group is an organization for librarians, archivists, subject specialists and curators working with Southeast Asia related collections. Since its formation in 1967, SEALG has brought together professionals from all over Europe, the US and Southeast Asia specializing in Southeast Asia and dealing with a wide range of formats and diverse materials. For the first time, the University of Passau will be the venue of the annual meeting and conference.

The paper presentations during the conference will cover the following themes:

– Collections, archives, and library work in the field of Southeast Asian Studies

– Recent developments in collections, archives, and libraries

– Acquisition, storage, and access of born digital material

– Contested heritage, providing access to heritage communities

– Decolonization debates related to collections, archives and libraries
