Cologne, 20 – 22 March 2026
An event organised by the Chair of Modern Chinese Studies at the East Asian Seminar and the Global South Studies Centre (GSSC) at the University of Cologne in cooperation with Attac Germany, BiKoop e.V., Brot für die Welt, the Forum Arbeitswelten e.V., the Critical China Forum in the Association für kritische Gesellschaftsforschung and the Chair of Development Politics at the University of Passau.
A wide range of political positions will be represented and discussed. Critical scholarship, emancipatory civil society and anti-racist diaspora activism will come together.
Participants will include Christian Y. Schmidt, Rainer Land, Renate Dillmann, Felix Wemheuer, Ingar Solty, Jenny Simon, Yang Xifan, Susanne Weigelin-Schwiedrzik, Wolfgang Müller, Wolfram Schaffar, as well as guests from the PRC, Hong Kong, Vietnam, the USA, and Austria.
